With the arrival of June, the traditional celebration of San Pedro is approaching, a festivity rooted in the fishing and identity culture of Biobío. In this context, the National Institute for Sustainable Development of Artisanal Fishing and Small-Scale Aquaculture (INDESPA) has announced a contest to provide financial financing to the San Pedro Festivals carried out by artisanal fishermen organizations during this month.
The contest has an allocation of a bond of 150 million pesos at the national level, destined to support projects that promote the cultural identity of artisanal fishing. The winners will receive a financial contribution of up to 3 million pesos per project, which may cover equipment, working capital, design and advertising.
He bond Its main objective is to promote the marketing of seafood from artisanal fishermen, as well as to position the activities carried out within the country’s coves as tourist attractions. In addition, it seeks to encourage collaborative work between the community and fishing organizations.
The applications for the contest They will be available until Monday, May 20, 2024 and are aimed at organizations made up exclusively of natural persons as artisanal fishermen and/or fisherwomen, duly registered in the Registry of Artisanal Organizations (ROA). This includes unions, trade associations, indigenous communities, cooperatives and other functional organizations.
