According to the established calendar, the first deadline to agree on the percentage increase expired on December 15. With no clues of an agreement in sight and with time running out, the possibilities increase that the figure will be defined by decree.

But, How long will there be a chance for the parties to argue?

The deadline for the salary increase to be defined is December 30. If an increase is not set, the Government will be in charge of establishing it, taking into account, as stated in the norm, parameters such as the inflation goal for the following year set by the Board of the Banco de la República and the productivity agreed upon by the tripartite committee. of productivity.

It should be remembered that, if this scenario materializes, it would not be the first time that the increase in the minimum has been determined via decree. Previously, this measure was applied to define the remuneration of the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2024.

The proposals

So far, several options have been put on the table.

On the part of the Colombian Association of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the possibility of increasing salaries by 5.2% has been raised. which translates into a monthly payment of $1,367,600not counting transportation assistance.

On the other hand, the unions propose a double-digit increase of 12%, which would mean an increase of $156,000; that is to say, The minimum monthly salary would remain at $1,456,000.

As for the Government, it is projected that, if an agreement is not reached between the parties, the increase would be around 9%. In other words, the minimum for 2025 would be approximately $1,417,000.

To discuss these and other proposals, new extraordinary consultation sessions will be held this Tuesday the 24th, Wednesday the 25th, Thursday the 26th and Friday the 27th of December.
