He National Government was based on Congress for the General Budget of the Nation for 2026, for a total of $ 556.9 billionwhich will be used for the execution of different projects of the different ministries.
The PGN -which already rests in the Secretariat of the Chamber of Representatives- includes a Financing or Tax Reform Law, with which the Executive hopes to raise about 19 billion pesos.
The Minister of Finance, Germán Ávlila, said: “In it Total budget value there are $ 556.9 billion, of which $ 501 billion will be financed with resources from the Nation, $ 29.6 billion with own income from national public establishments and $ 26.3 billion with tax, subject to the approval of the Financing Law. From the total amount $ 301.7 billion correspond to tax revenues and $ 1.4 billion to non -tax”
Investment for 2026
Another key point that attracts attention is that due to the future validity and debts that the country has, the expense for investment is less and less.
Although the investment is projected at $ 88.7 billion by 2026It maintains a descending trend in real terms and falls as a proportion of the total budget, going from 19.8% in 2022 to 15.3% in 2026.
“This budget reflects a fiscal consolidation strategy with development vision. The efficiency of spending and prioritization of investment becomes fundamental pillars to face the country’s economic and social challenges”Said Finance Minister Germán Ávila.
The projected expense for next year, the government has said, is aligned with the goals consigned in the National Development Plan, but in the budget a strong pressure of rigid expenses is evident directly related to state operation.
Based on the figures that are known at the close of this edition, only between 2022 and 2026, the national budget has grown by more than $ 110 royal billion, but almost 90% of that increase has been absorbed by operation.
In the initial calculations of the Minhacienda there were talk that the resources allocated to this item will go from $ 253.9 billion to $ 353.4 billion in that same period, which implies that the current expenditure of the State continues to grow at a much higher rate than the GDP.
Sectors that will have greater investment
Education will have more resources, with 88.2 billion pesos. Followed by health, with 78.11 billion pesos and the defense and police, with 68.9 billion pesos. Then, the work portfolio with 59.4 billion pesos; Hacienda would have 31.8 billion pesos; Transport with 20.3 billion pesos; and social inclusion and reconciliation, with 14.7 billion pesos.
