The increase, originally scheduled for this month, had already been anticipated last October by the former Minister of Transportation Alexis Guerrera and reaffirmed by the current head of the area, Diego Giuliano, at the end of November.

The last update, which went into effect on August 1, averaged 40% and it was the first to be applied since the beginning of 2019.

In the case of AMBA buses, the minimum ticket for sections of up to three kilometers there will be an increase of 39%, which will go from the current $25.20 to $35.

Meanwhile, the longer range paths will receive fewer subsidies because they will have increases that will be around between 39% and 49%, in a staggered manner.

The teabranch of three to six kilometers will rise from $28 to $39; the one from six to 12, from $29.40 to $42; the one from 12 to 27, from $30.80 to $45; and for journeys longer than 27 kilometers the fare will increase from $32.20 to $48.

In all cases, the 55% discount for the Social Rate of the SUBE card will be maintained Therefore, the minimum ticket for said beneficiaries will go from $11.34 to $15.75.

For group II suburban buses, that is, those that connect the city of Buenos Aires (CABA) with the limits of the AMBA (Cañuelas, Pilar, La Plata, Luján, Zárate), the minimum ticket will be $46.06, with a base per kilometer traveled of $1.76.

Likewise, the tariff schedule continues to contemplate surcharges of up to 25% for express services that can reach 75% in the case of traveling through highways.

For the increases, according to the resolution, the increases in the prices of inputs and services were taken into account, including diesel, insurance, the price of rolling stock and spare parts, which “have not been recognized in the rates” for what the increases are necessary to “maintain the economic-financial equation that allows its sustainability”.

For trains, increases will be applied both in the metropolitan services of the AMBA and in the regional and long-distance services throughout the country.

In it AMBA, the minimum fares -up to 12 kilometers- for the lines Miter, Sarmiento, San Martín and Tren de la Costa will increase 27.54%, going from $17.25 ($7.76 for beneficiaries of the Social Rate) to $22 ($9.90).

Meanwhile, the maximum ticket of more than 24 kilometers will reach $35, with an increase of 34.62%.

For its part, the lowest rate for the Roca, Belgrano Norte, Urquiza and Belgrano Sur lines will be unified at $17 ($7.65 for the Social Rate), which represents an increase, for each line, of 58.14%, 78 .95%, 51.11% and 58.14%, respectively with respect to the current value.

While, the highest ticket was set at $27 which implies an increase of between 45.95% and 61.19%, depending on the line.

All These train fares will govern the payment of the ticket with SUBEbut if it is paid in cash, it will become $70 for all sections of the Mitre, Sarmiento, San Martín and Tren de la Costa, and $50 for the Roca, Belgrano Sur, Urquiza and Belgrano Norte.

The fine for those who do not pay the ticket will increase to 10 times the value of the first section, a value currently stipulated at five times on lines such as the Roca, “in order to mitigate non-compliance by passengers.”

There will also be increases for AMBA suburban trains: the services Alejandro Korn-Chascomús, Cañuelas-Lobos, Cañuelas-Monte, Merlo-Lobos, Moreno-Mercedes, Villa Ballester-Zárate, Victoria-Capilla del Señor and the University Train will pay a fee that will start at $18 for the minimum journey.

Currently these services do not have a single rate: tickets for the Victoria-Capilla del Señor, Cañuelas-Monte and Alejandro Korn-Chascomús lines, for example, currently have minimum rates of $5.50; $3.15 and $2.10, respectively.

For those who make the complete journeys of these lines, the new values ​​will be, for example, $90 on the Korn-Chascomús line; $65 on the Merlo-Lobos train and $55 on the Moreno-Mercedes.

long distance service

The long distance services that connect the Constitución station with Mar del Plata, Pinamar and Bahía Blanca will have first class tickets of $1,197, $1,038 and $2,049, respectively, which will represent an increase of between 30% on the train to Pinamar and 100 %, in the case of the line to Mar del Plata.

In the same way, the rates of the trains that depart from Retiro to Rosario ($948 with an increase of 125%), Córdoba ($2,106 and 200%), Tucumán ($3,447 and 222%) and Justo Daract ($1,962 and 113%) will also be updated. %); and the one from Once to Pehuajó ($1,086 and 185%),

The explanation of the differences between the various ranges of increases is linked to the fact that the new rate chart unifies the value per kilometer of all destinations at $3.

Meanwhile, the regional services of Entre Ríos, Neuquén, Salta and the Tren de las Sierras el Córdoba will also receive a new tariff scheme, a line that already has its future extension from Valle Hermoso to Capilla del Monte included in the tariff schedule with a $60 max ticket which is currently $28.
