The Ministry of Transportation made official the 40% increase in the rate of passenger transport in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Buenos Aires (AMBA) and the metropolitan, intercity and long-distance passenger train services, which will take effect on Monday, August 1.

The measure was taken through resolution 514/2022 published this Friday in the Official Gazette, and it details, among the main points, that the minimum rate for the bus service and the City of Buenos Aires and the so-called “Subgroup I” (Greater Buenos Aires) will go from $18 to $25.20 Starting at zero hour this Monday.

Also, the ticket of $ 20 for sections of 3 to 6 kilometers, will increase to $ 28, while the section from 6 to 12 kilometers will go from $21 to $29.40; the one from 12 to 27 km, from $22 to $30.88; and for sections of more than 27 kilometers, it will go from $23 to $32.20.

In the case of metropolitan rail services, the minimum fare on the Mitre, Sarmiento, San Martín and Tren de la Costa railways will be $17.25, the second section $21.75 and the third $26.

For him Roca and Belgrano Sur fares will change to $10.75, $14.25 and $17.25 respectively. For the Urquiza, at $11.25, $15.50 and $18.50, while for the Belgrano Norte there were six sections at $9.50, $10.75, $14.75, $15.75 , $18.25 and $21.75.

All these rates will be those that will govern the payment of the ticket with the Single Electronic Ticket System (SUBE), but if it is paid with cash they will be $ 52 for all sections of the Mitre, Sarmiento, San Martín and Tren. de la Costa, $34.50 for the Roca and $33.50 for the Belgrano Sur.

For him Urquizathe payment in cash will be, according to the sections, $22.50, $31 and $37, while for the six sections of Belgrano Norte it will be $19, $21.50, $29.50, $31, 50, $36.50 and $43.50.

The increase in the rate of motor transport and railway services was arranged after being maintained for more than three years without modifications, and within the framework of the Government’s objective of reducing the weight of subsidies in the fiscal result.

Transportation subsidies are the most significant after energy subsidies and in the first semester represented an outlay of $152,271.3 million, with a year-on-year increase of 85.4%, according to the latest report from the Argentine Association of Budget and Financial Administration Public (ASAP).
