The government has approved a non-refundable bonus of S/2,000 so that drivers whose cars use LPGconvert it to vehicular natural gas (NGV), which would allow for a cleaner energy matrix in Peru.
This measure will also help people who have cars to save money in fuel consumption, taking into account that CNG has a lower cost.
According to information from Cálidda, this benefit may be used in any of the authorized conversion workshops affiliated with the program. Usually, the process takes two days and costs around S/4,000 to S/4,300, but with this bonus the conversion cost is reduced by S/2,000.
The State also offers the option of financing this balance with 0% interest for a term of up to three years through the FISE, so the driver could approach and request the conversion without a sun in his pocket.
“The bonus of S/ 2,000 for conversions of LPG to NGV it is a key benefit that will allow drivers to enjoy clean and cheap fuel. In addition, it is a sign that we are going in the right direction to meet the objectives of massification of natural gas, “said Jose Saco, deputy manager of mobility at Cálidda.
He added that there are currently 340 service stations nationwide where this fuel can be recharged, in addition to 170 conversion workshops.
“Using CNG you can save up to 70% compared to other fuels. In addition, current technology guarantees a clean and precise conversion, without any risk to the vehicle’s engine”, he added.
