Within the framework of Women’s Month, the Municipality of Montevideo (IM) organized the “Here we are” festival in which the objective is that all the artists on stage are women. The event will bring together renowned names from the local and regional music scene on a stage set up on the Rambla de Punta Carretas property: from Lali Esposito and Daniela Mercury as international guests, even the Uruguayans Agus Padilla, Vanesa Britos, Catherine Vergnes, Laura Canoura, Agus Morales, Sofía Alvez and Sole Ramírez.
This Tuesday the IM made public the resolution of the payment to the two international artists: Lali Espósito, whose performance will cost US$ 256,478 and of Daniela Mercury for which the commune will pay US$ 62,387.
On Monday the IM had made public the contracts with these artists, but he had omitted to publish the amounts. However, this Tuesday a new document was issued stating that “In the operative part, it was omitted to indicate how much the total cost of the contract amounts to.”

Call “Here we are”
“The objective of the event, in addition to enjoying a great quality show, is break traditional paradigms and promote representativeness, leadership and equal opportunities in culture so that the voice of women is heard within the music industry,” the IM argued about the spending.
About espositothe commune based its invitation on the artist because it understands that “in addition to being a well-known actress and singer of international renown, she exhibits in her interventions its social commitment to gender equality and women’s rights” and about Mercury argued that “she is a dedicated philanthropist linked to organizations that benefit children and in recent years it has added a strong feminist and LGBT activism”.
The entries are located for sale in tickantel for $400 and children under 10 years of age do not pay for admission.
