Municipal Police
Problem-oriented Proximity Policing (subsidiary): It is focused on providing a strategic response through the analysis of patterns and facilitators; identifying security problems in specific terms to intervene with solutions; carrying out strategic patrols; emphasis on analytical capabilities and the search for sustainable results in the reduction of victimization and/or infractions.
In turn, it has the following division:
Strategic Surveillance and Patrolling: Conduct patrols in operational sectors (quadrants), establishing delimited areas of responsibility to improve supervision and coverage.
Victim care: Bring psychological, legal, medical and social work services closer through mobile and fixed police stations.
Reception of complaints: Respond to complaints through fixed and mobile stations. This involves the creation and adoption of a complaint form, agreed upon with the Prosecutor’s Office, to keep a record of reported crimes.
Police Investigation and Analysis: Maintain coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to develop investigations that allow dismantling criminal activity and reducing the commission of crimes.
Reaction Police: Maintain order at mass public events; b) Provide support in Ministerial Proceedings; c) Ensure judicial proceedings that require it; d) Safeguard seized properties; e) Support the Proximity Police in conflict situations; f) Support the Investigative Police in proceedings that require it; g) Ensure order in the exercise of freedom of demonstration in support of the State Police.
Mediation and Civic Justice: It fundamentally seeks the institutional solution to the conflict through timely interventions aimed at ensuring that social problems do not end in crimes, and it does so through public, open, contradictory and oral hearings.

It allows us to identify possible inappropriate behaviour by police personnel (in the hearing, the offender is given the right to use his or her voice to express any mistreatment or abuse to which he or she may have been subjected. If this is the case, the Civic Judge will channel the case to the Internal Affairs Directorate for investigation).
Ministerial Police
They participate in the investigation of crimes committed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. To do so, they carry out the following actions in accordance with Articles 132 and 221 of the National Code of Criminal Procedure:
- Receive complaints about events that may constitute crimes and report them to the Public Prosecutor’s Office as well as any investigations carried out.
- Verify the veracity of data provided by anonymous information through research.
- Carry out investigations to clarify the facts.
- Carry out arrests in cases under Article 16 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.
- Participate in the investigation of crimes, arrests and seizure of property.
- Record arrests.
- To make persons and property detained in their custody available to the authorities.
- Preserve the scene of the crime or discovery to ensure the integrity of the evidence for the investigation.
Provide care to victims. - Issue reports.

Other types of police
Auxiliary Police
It is a complementary police force that provides specialized security and surveillance services to public and private companies, federal and local government agencies, custody in the transfer of goods and people, as well as in strategic facilities such as hospitals, banks and airports, among others.
In the case of Mexico City, it is a police corporation dependent on the Secretariat of Citizen Security.
Banking and Industrial Police
The main activity is to provide specialized security, surveillance and protection services within the city walls to public and private companies located in the capital and suburban area, such as: Service Providers, Banks, Industries, Businesses, Agencies and Entities.
It provides services such as intramural security, protection of people, security in the transfer of valuables and surveillance of goods, citizen security, technical guides as well as a police operations center.
It is also institutionalized by the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City.
