Looking ahead to 2026, workers, students and travelers are beginning to look at the calendar to find out what the holidays will look like.

This is how the holiday calendar will look in 2026
Next year will have 18 holidays throughout the country, several of them scheduled for Mondays, a feature that facilitates the creation of the well-known holiday long weekends.
The first break will come Thursday January 1with the celebration of New Yearand a few days later the Monday January 12corresponding to Three Wise Men. Later, the Monday March 23will commemorate the Saint Joseph’s Day.
April will be marked by the Easter weekone of the most relevant moments of the religious calendar. In 2026these dates will be celebrated on Thursday April 2 (Maundy Thursday) and the Friday April 3 (Good Friday), days that remain fixed and they do not carry over to other days of the week.
During the first semester will also be celebrated Friday May 1, Labor Dayfollowed by a series of holidays that will fall on Mondays: May 18 (Ascension of the Lord), June 8 (Corpus Christi) and June 15 (Sacred Heart), which will allow several long weekends followed.
The second half of the year will maintain the rhythm of breaks with the Monday June 29by Saint Peter and Saint Paul; on Monday, July 20, Independence Day; and the Friday August 7date on which the Battle of Boyacá.

In the last months of the year a significant number of holidays are concentrated Monday. They are there on August 17 (Assumption of the Virgin), October 12 (Columbus Day), November 2 (All Saints’ Day) and November 16 (Independence of Cartagena).
