The Minister of Health, Carolina Corcho, has been the victim of several criticisms in recent days for the pronouncements he has been making about the way the Colombian care system works.
In this opportunity, Former Vice President Germán Vargas Lleras published a strong column in which he calls the government official “Machiavellian”, He questions her for her idea of ending the EPS, for having asked for fewer resources for the health system and for insinuating that a crisis should be generated in the sector.

Vargas claims that discrediting and defunding the EPS would be detrimental not only to citizensbut also for the medical personnel who work in these entities.
“In this way, the EPS will receive fewer resources, portfolio problems will worsen and, of course, users and medical personnel will be affected. The experts agree in affirming that one consequence will be the increase in the so-called access barriers, with special affectation of those affiliated to the subsidized regime”, indicated Vargas.

Vargas Lleras questioned the “sick animosity” that, according to him, the minister has against Law 100, saying that her ideas failed in Bogotá and in the presidential campaign where she made no secret of her intention to tear apart the current health system.
