The consultant Figure presented this Tuesday on Telemundo (Channel 12) a new survey on the government of Luis Lacalle Pouin this case with respect to his performance in three large areas: security, education and economy.
In the three areas the disapproval increased from last year.
On security managementthe consultant concluded that between April and May of this year the disapproval was 49% and the 43% approval.
Refering to education, 47% said they disapproved and 43% approved. Finally, about the economy, 48% said they disapprove and 45% approved.
“The positive judgments on these three key areas are slightly less than the more general approval of the president’s performance, but the negative judgments are more,” Cifra said in its research and recalled the values of approval and disapproval of the president. In this sense, the last measurement of the company showed that 46% approve of the management of Lacalle Pou and 43% disapprove.
The consultant compared the results of the April-May measurement with those registered a year ago. “It is observed that the approval of how security is being managed decreased by 15 pointsfrom 58% to 43%, and also dropped 8 points, from 51 to 43%, the approval of the management of education“, says the study.
On the other hand, it stresses that the “positive judgments” about the management of the economy “remain stable“, at 45%, that the negatives increased 4 points.
“Whereas a year ago the three areas, and security in particular, received more positive judgments than negative ones, today the opposite is the case. And the area that has deteriorated the least, according to the perception of the population, is the economy, which was the worst evaluated in 2022”, he adds.
Management evaluation by parties
The voters of the pro-government coalition show greater approval of the government’s management. Especially in the economic area, where 77% approve of the administration. It is in this area that the Broad Front voters show the greatest objection, with only 11% approval of what has been done.
Regarding education, 72% of the voters of the coalition defend the management, while among the Frente Amplio voters it only collects 17% of the support.
In security, it is where the government is least supported by its electorate. 65% of the coalition voters approve of this administration and only 21% of the Frente Amplistas support this administration.

The survey was carried out by telephone, to landlines and cell phones, between April 20 and May 3 of this year. In total there were 987 interviewees. The maximum expected margin of error for 95% confidence is approximately 3.1 percentage points plus or minus (+/- 3.1). The text of the question asked to the respondents is the following: Do you approve or disapprove of the way in which the government is managing education?; Do you approve or disapprove of the way the government is managing public safety?; Do you approve or disapprove of the way the government is managing the economy?
