In this vote, the majority of parliamentarians from the south of the country also participated, although an important group did not attend or simply decided not to cast any vote.
The opinion barely achieved 49 votes in favor, 33 against and 25 abstentions of the benches of Popular Force, Popular Action, Advance Country, popular renewal, Free Peru, Magisterial Block Y Democratic Peru.
This reform was put up for debate due to the political crisis and at the request of the regions of the country where, in recent days, there have been protests demanding new general elections in order for a new Congress to come to power and start a new presidential administration. .
Although the parliamentary group of Fuerza Popular cast 22 votes in favor of the elections, several other benches rejected the reform because they hope that the inclusion of a constituent assembly will be considered. Faced with this situation, sufficient support was not obtained for the advancement of the elections.
In the case of the south, congressmen for Arequipa, Fist, Cusco, tacna Y moquegua They cast various votes. However, the majority of legislators from the highlands abstained.
Regarding Guido Bellido, he preferred not to vote, while former Minister Óscar Zea abstained, while former Prime Minister Bettsy Chávez voted against.
