The Minister of Public Works and Communications, Deligne Ascención, conducted a tour to supervise the progress of the work on the Baní ring road and started the construction of the Paso de Los Hierros bridge.
Accompanied by engineer Manuel Estrella, president of Constructora Estrella, Ascención said: “It is a road that is more than 85 percent complete, with the most important variables dominated, such as the construction of its 17 bridges, where there are already 12 of them. those who have beams placed and others who in the coming weeks will have the same treatment.”
The road consists of almost 19 kilometers, it has about 15 kilometers with a first layer of asphalt, and the distributors are in the completion phase.
“It is with great satisfaction that we inform the southerners, Banilejos and the Dominican people that in a relatively short time we will be making this important and modern road that represents the Baní Beltway available to everyone,” he added.
The Minister indicated that he has a commitment to this community, “we are going to give a prompt response, taking into account the time it takes to complete a job of this nature, we are looking at the technical details and the solutions that we must execute.”
The provincial governor, Ángela Yadira Báez, when referring to the work on the Los Hierros bridge, highlighted that this work represents a great advance for the development of the province, especially for the upper part of Baní.
She thanked President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Public Works who work to give the country timely responses to the needs that arise every day, the governor said.
“They will no longer have to go down to what is the main entrance of the municipality, and this will contribute to the speed in the transportation of agricultural production from the upper area, it will also lighten traffic towards the entrance of Baní,” he added. .
During the tour, the minister was also accompanied by the senator of Peravia, Julito Furcal, who highlighted the execution of works at the national level through the Ministry of Public Works and Minister Deligne Ascención.
“This work, so demanded by the people, will not only serve the northern part of the municipality, but for the entire province, since people who move from the northern area do not have to turn around through the center, they will only have “to take this route.”
Dilcia Pimentel, president of the neighborhood council of the Tendales sector, Pueblo Nuevo, thanked the authorities for the construction of the bridge.
“We thank God, the Minister of Public Works and our President Luis Abinader, for making possible this work that we have been waiting for for years, and thanks to God and the minister we will have it soon,” he said.
Community member Carlos Alberto González expressed his joy because after 60 years of waiting they will have this work.
“Thank you first to the Lord, then to the President of the Republic Luis Abinader and the Minister of Public Works, for this work desired for more than 60 years, which will unite two very important sections through the hills that bring product and must arrive to the people of Bani,” said the community member.
