The negotiations for the call for prequalification of companies for the duplication of route PY01 continue. This is the section from Cuatro Mojones – Acceso Sur, in the Central department, to the city of Quiindy, in the department of Paraguarí.
This was confirmed by the head of the MOPC, Rodolfo Segovia. “It’s going to be a PPP (Public Private Partnership)we are working with Treasury to close the Bidding Terms and Conditions in order to call for tenders during the month of February”, said the head of the MOPC.
In the area starting at Cuatro Mojones to Ytororó where the route is already duplicatedimportant interventions will be carried out, consisting of improvements to the existing road, signs, turns, bypasses and even viaducts and tunnels in critical areas.
Since Ytororó to Paraguarí the duplication itself will be carried out and later, up to Quiindy, improvements and drainage will be included, especially in the area of bridges.
The works are part of the Transportation Master Plan (PMT) developed by the MOPC, which defines the strategies to improve transit in the most conflictive points of the country. In this case, the transport of cargo of low unit value that crosses urban areas to reach the port of Villeta, to the south of the capital.
It should be noted that the route PY01 and the South Access of Asunción They are part of the main corridors of the Paraguayan highway system, which connects with the south of the country, and in turn are Regional Integration Corridors that connect with Argentina.

The main layout of the highway crosses the districts of Ypané, Guarambaré, Villeta and Itá, in the Central department, and the cities of Yaguarón, Paraguarí, Carapeguá and Quiindy, in the department of Paraguarí.
LThe intervention would cover about 108 km, also solving the knots that are formed at various intersections along its route.
