Through social networks, a serious case of overdose was reported at the National Cancer Institute (INCAN) during a chemotherapy session. As a result of this situation, the affected cancer patient suffers from severe aplasia and her life is at risk.
The former Vice Minister of Justice Alejandra Peralta denounced via Twitter a negligent medical action that had as a victim the lawyer Ivanna Rolón, who is a cancer patient.
As reported, Rolón went days ago to undergo chemotherapy at INCAN, although he received an overdose during the procedure, receiving 5 times more than the indicated dose.
As a result of this, she was currently diagnosed with severe aplasia, a condition that causes a decrease in red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets in peripheral blood and that also generates a drastic reduction in her defenses.
I inform the public of a VERY SERIOUS event that occurred last week at INCAN to a patient named Ivana Rolon @ivirolon q went for chemo and received an overdose. At this time she is diagnosed with SEVERE APLASIA as a result of the overdose. ?

Due to this situation, Rolón is susceptible to being affected to a greater extent by any small infection or even a cold, running a serious risk of developing severe forms or even death in the worst case.
This patient had to undergo 4 sessions of chemotherapy with a dose of 30 ml. In the second session last Wednesday, she was given 150 ml, which represents 3 bottles together.
Yesterday, the lawyer was transferred to the La Costa Sanatorium, where she is in the intensive care unit, sedated and under constant medical monitoring, Peralta Merlo mentioned in her tweet.
Ivanna Rolón had resorted to a constitutional protection so that the Ministry of Health could provide her with the expensive medications she required to continue her cancer treatment. Of the 5 drugs that she needed, only one was provided through the judicial process and the other 4 thanks to solidarity aid.
Peralta Merlo hopes that this serious case does not go unpunished and demands that the Public Ministry initiate an investigation ex officio, so that responsibilities are determined and those responsible are punished.
