President Luis Arce highlighted this Sunday the support of the Eastern Block, an alliance that brings together unions and social organizations related to the MAS in Santa Cruz, against “groups that only seek to destabilize” his government.
The president’s statement took place in the context of the strike of 24 hours that was convened for this Monday by Santa Cruz institutions that demand a “timely and transparent” census” in 2023 and not in 2024, as defined by Decree 4760.
“We value the deep commitment of our Santa Cruz social organizations, which are more united than ever to defend democracy, against groups that only seek to destabilize. We feel strengthened by your support, thank you very much social organizations of Santa Cruz”the Head of State wrote on his social media accounts.
In addition to supporting Arce and Vice President David Choquehuanca, the Eastern Bloc supports the “rescheduling” of the census so that it is carried out between “May and September 2024.” Decree 4760 establishes that the registration will be between May and June 2024.
