With less than a month to go until the turn of the year, demand for rooms in hotels located on the city’s waterfront, mainly in the neighborhoods of Copacabana and Leme, in the South zone, where fireworks are planned, is high. In these neighborhoods, occupancy for New Year’s Eve is already 78.88%.
The Accommodation Union of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro (HotéisRIO) reported this Thursday (5) that there is a “heated demand, with expectations of an increase in reservations compared to last year”.
The entity also announced that the search for reservations is also high, with occupancy at 77.72% in the neighborhoods of Ipanema and Leblon, and 66.11% in Flamengo and Botafogo. In the west zone, Barra da Tijuca and Recreio dos Bandeirantes, records an occupancy rate of 76.78%. In the center of Rio, it is at 61.13%.
For the president of HotéisRIO, Alfredo Lopes, the attractions announced for the show on Copacabana Beach increased interest in the party. Rio’s city hall announced that the night will be hosted by Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia, Anitta and Ivete Sangalo.
“I believe that a fundamental factor for this increase was the promotion and quality of the artists who will be at New Year’s Eve in Copacabana, which is the city’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration. This was fundamental in making the decision for people to come to Rio de Janeiro, which was even announced directly by the mayor in advance. This publicity was very important and it already showed that it worked,” said Lopes.
