Madrid Spain.- The Colonial Hotel of the Cayo Coco tourist complex, initiator of the sector’s operations in the Jardines del Rey destination, in the north of the province of Ciego de Ávila, will reopen on October 1 after a comprehensive renovation.
As reported by the Cuban News Agencythe reopening will coincide with the 29th anniversary of the hotel facility, which had been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are working on the comprehensive maintenance of the blocks of rooms, restaurants, bars, ranches, fresh and salt water pools, access walkways to the beach, the nautical point, gardening and other common areas,” said the Commercial Deputy Director from the hotel, Sanny Orosa de Varona.
Just as he pointed out that the hot water and air conditioning systems have been perfected, which are “guarantee for the comfort of the clients”.
The Colonial Cayo Coco Hotel, a Four Star category and belonging to the Cubanacán Hotel Group, has 458 rooms, including suites, 10 bars, three restaurants specializing in national and international cuisine, swimming pools, gardens and a newly repaired gym, “with a modern equipment for the practice of physical exercises.
Varona also mentioned that the facility will be available for events, special dinners, quinces and weddings.
The Hotel Colonial has the Casa del Habano, “the only one of its kind in the destination and globally recognized for offering various Premium drinks and cigars,” he added.
In the midst of shortages of products of all kinds suffered by the Cuban population, the minister stated that “work is being done on the conclusion of contracts with local and national suppliers to ensure supplies for the winter season and increase the presence of Cuban products, a bet to the authentic and to the substitution of imports in the tourism sector”.
