After a run over start and without emotion, Peru opened the scoring. After a goal kick by Sebastián Amasifuen, the ball stung and ended up at the feet of Jeffrey Cabellos, who in turn assisted Vásquez Soto. The attacker lobbed Kevin Mantilla and then finished off to hit goalkeeper Luis Miguel Marquinez with a bouncing ball.
