The declaration of a yellow alert indicates that there is a risk due to the armed strike that until now in the region has left more than 60 vehicles (trucks, buses and motorcycles) burned, natural gas shortages, the closure of businesses and difficulties with public transportation in at least 35 Antioquia municipalities.
Antioquia’s Undersecretary for the Provision of Health Services, César Gómez Figueroa, asked for respect for the medical mission, since they were has made it difficult to transfer patients amid roadblocks. He insisted that in El Bagre there was difficulty in transporting three patients, two of them maternal. Meanwhile, he demanded that the medical mission is outside of any type of violence.
The circular requires that all hospitals and clinics report to the Regulatory Centers for Urgencies, Emergencies and Disasters (Crue), on the patient care or difficulties in transporting them through the department’s roads.
