Nurses from the City of Buenos Aires will join today the day of protests that resident doctors have been carrying out for weeks, so this Thursday there will be a hospital arrest widespread.
The measure of force includes a cessation of activities for 24 hours. Furthermore, as part of the hospital arrestthere will be marches and mobilizations towards the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health.
The hospital arrest was convened by the Association of Graduates in Nursing (ALE) and the Federation of Professionals of CABA, who join the fight plan carried out by resident and concurrent doctors of the City.
From the sector they demand “the reopening of parity and salary equalization for nursing.” In this regard, the president of the ALE, Andrea Ramírez, explained that the reopening of parity is necessary, “because what was signed by the unions is totally insufficient.”
Ramírez also said: “We support residents and attendees, because, if they win, all our fights are strengthened”, with which it is expected that the call made for today will be massive.
For her part, the press secretary of the Federation of Professionals of CABA, Carolina Cáceres, considered: “In the hospitals of the richest city in Argentina there is a true state of assembly deliberation, a huge anger due to the miserable salary that the health team.
“Today, a Nursing graduate with service leadership and more than 20 years of seniority barely exceeds the poverty basket,” according to workers in the sector. For this reason, they also demand a salary increase that is consistent with the current economic situation.
Where will the mobilization be?
The measure of force summoned by nurses and residents of the City will begin at 10:00. The workers will concentrate on the corner of Corrientes and Callao avenues.
From there, they will march to the offices of the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health, in Bolívar 1. The union hopes to raise its demands with Minister Fernán Quirós, with whom they hope to meet.
