In 2025, Honda celebrates two key milestones: 60 years since his first victory on the top motorsport circuit and 40 years of industrial presence in Mexico. Both moments reflect the same philosophy: that of exceeding limits with innovation and long-term vision.
These anniversaries not only pay tribute to the legacy of Soichiro Honda, visionary founder, whose passion for engineering materialized in global triumphs, but also highlight the company’s impact on the Mexican economy, which over the years has generated thousands of jobs, as well as a network of exports to North and Latin America.
The history on the track began in 1964, when Honda debuted the RA271a single-seater designed and powered in Japan. One year later, in the race held in October 1965 in Mexicothe RA272 single-seater, with a 230 horsepower V12 enginecrossed the finish line first. Was the first victory from a Japanese team and engine in the highest category of motorsport. A victory that changed the rules of the game.
