Vicente Ramírez Acosta and Elizabeth Duarte Villalba were found guilty from the facts of intentional homicide, rustling, criminal association and aggravated robbery. Both were sentenced to 30 years in prison, plus 10 years of security measure, as resolved by a Philadelphia Sentencing Court, Boquerón department.
The case dates back to July 9, 2019, at the Taguató del Chaco ranch, where a boy and a girl, grandchildren of the elderly couple, had gone to spend a few days with their grandparents Desiderio Ayala Coronel and Francisca Nidia Núñez Romerotaking advantage of the winter holidays.

That day they came by surprise, without notifying the employees about the visit. The arrival coincided with the moment when Vicente Ramírez, along with other men, were preparing to steal cattle to market them in Concepción.
Upon being surprised by the owners, the foreman had an argument with the old man whom he shot to death. Later he killed his wife. Next to the two grandchildren, who tried to flee, but were hit, wounded and finished off.
The four corpses were placed in a septic chamber, in order to hide them from the familyres, who called insistently trying to communicate and hear from the grandparents and grandchildren, to which the employees came to answer that everything was fine. Subsequently, they left with the cattle, the theft of which was the main objective.
