Home prison is granted to the leader of the disrupted sect in Villa Crespo

Federal judge Ariel Lijo granted the benefit of house arrest to Juan Percowicz, 84, accused of being the head and founder of the Buenos Aires Yoga School, who in the next few hours will be transferred to his apartment on Amenábar street to 1,500 from the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Colegiales, according to judicial sources.

Percowicz, who had been arrested last August 12 in his other home in the Santa Clara country, located in Tigre, must remain in his apartment while Lijo continues the investigation against him, for the crimes of human trafficking and money laundering.

The detainee will have to wear an electronic anklet, must observe the prohibition to leave his home and to meet with members of the so-called “sect” of Villa Crespo, the sources said.

The leader of the organization called himself “El Maestro” or “El Ángel” and in the last 30 years he directed the Buenos Aires Yoga School, from where he managed to create a network of human trafficking and money laundering, according to the indictment. Judge Lijo and prosecutors Carlos Stornelli and Alejandra Mangano.

Marcelo Guerra Percowicz, Juan’s adopted son, was the heir apparent, the second in line of command and today he is a fugitive from Justice.

In the offices of Villa Crespo, where the organization operated, the police managed to seize pornographic material and verified the operation of an irregular clinic, called CMI Abasto, where they sold alleged drug addiction treatments, in addition to comprehensive medicine.
