Holy Week: COE issues green alert for seven provinces

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) issued this Holy Thursday a green alert for seven provinces, due to possible urban and rural flash floods, flooding of rivers, streams and ravines, as well as landslides.

They are on alert: Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, La Vega, Hato Mayor, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal and Sánchez Ramírez.

According to the report of the National Meteorological Officethe east/northeast wind has kept dragging humidity over the Dominican territory and in combination with a trough that continues to affect the weather conditions, by favoring the development of downpours, electrical storms and occasional gusts of wind over the provinces of the northeast, southeast, (including Greater Santo Domingo), Cordillera Central and over some towns in the border area.
