Hollman Ariel Gaitán, 7, was reported missing on the afternoon of Sunday, August 18, and was found dead inside his home.
The National Police, in a press conference, reported that the minor’s body was found wrapped in a black plastic bag, under the bed of his stepbrother, identified as Eduard Enrique Gaitán.
They said that the murder of the minor would have occurred at around 1:20 in the afternoon on Sunday, August 18, when Eduard Enrique called the minor to his room, hit him on the head and covered his mouth so he would not scream, and then strangled him. The perpetrator of the crime has already been arrested and presented publicly by the Police.
The family of the child Hollman Ariel Gaitán, prior to learning of the discovery of the minor’s body, at around 11 in the morning, confirmed to Article 66 that the search continued.
They explained that the boy disappeared around noon on Sunday, August 18, and since then they had not stopped looking for him.
The minor had disappeared from the porch of his home without a trace and since then the family began the search.

Holmann Ariel’s mother, in interviews with local media, also detailed – through tears – that at the time of his disappearance, her son was dressed in “a yellow t-shirt, grey shorts and grey slippers, and was carrying a blue cell phone, which belonged to his father.”
He also said he trusted “in God that the child would appear safe and sound” and that he would not stop until he found his whereabouts.
Residents of Catarina joined the search
According to posts shared on social media, the streets of Catarina have been filled since Sunday afternoon with people who, in support of Hollman’s family, joined the search.
Some of the residents who joined in to support the search for the minor carried signs and photographs of the child, which read: “Please, if you have seen him, tell his father.”
Photos of the minor had also flooded social media, where everyone was asked to join in sharing so that the whereabouts of the minor, who was found dead today inside his own home, could be found soon.
One of Hollman Ariel’s relatives told Article 66 that the report of the child’s disappearance had been immediately filed – on Sunday, August 18 – with the National Police authorities.
