Holidays and work in Europe? Czech Republic will offer visa to Peruvians starting in February 2026

From February 1, 2026, young Peruvians will have a new option to travel and work legally in Europe. Thanks to the new bilateral agreement between Peru and the Czech Republic, they will be able to obtain a “Vacation and Work” visa that will allow them to spend up to a year in Czech lands, combine tourism with temporary work and immerse themselves in European culture.

The agreement, ratified by both governments, seeks to promote cultural exchange and enable more young people to improve their language level, gain international work experience and get to know a different society up close. The possibility of working without needing an additional permit is one of the biggest attractions of the program.

Who can apply?

Interested young Peruvians must apply for a visa at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lima. Among the requirements are:

  1. Plan to spend vacations in the Czech Republic, with the understanding that employment is an incidental and not a main reason for the visit;
  2. Be between eighteen (18) and thirty (30) years old, both inclusive, at the time of application;
  3. Not be accompanied by dependent people;
  4. Be the holder of a passport of the Republic of Peru whose validity extends up to three months after the planned period of stay in the territory of the Czech Republic;
  5. Have a round-trip ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket;
  6. Have sufficient funds for your maintenance during your stay in the Czech Republic, at the discretion of the competent authorities;
  7. Present a Certificate of Criminal Record from the Republic of Peru, which demonstrates the absence of a criminal conviction;
  8. Submit two photographs;
  9. Pay the prescribed visa application fee;
  10. Not having previously participated in the Czech Republic working holiday program;
  11. Present a medical insurance certificate with the scope of coverage required by the laws and regulations in force in the Czech Republic, valid for the entire period of stay; and
  12. Comply with all health requirements to enter the territory of the Czech Republic.

The Czech authorities may set a maximum number of visas available each year. The authorization will be valid for up to twelve months and cannot be renewed. The objective of the program is for employment to be a complement to the trip, not its main motivation.

What can they do in the Czech Republic?

During their stay, young Peruvians will be able to:

  • Work in temporary activities, legally, without additional work permit.
  • Enroll in language, training or specialization courses.
  • Travel through the Czech Republic and other European destinations according to current immigration conditions.

Participants must always comply with local laws, especially those related to employment and regulated professions.

Why is it a great opportunity for young Peruvians?

  1. Authentic cultural experience
    Living in the Czech Republic for almost a year not only means visiting tourist destinations, but also living with local people, getting to know their customs, learning part of their language and forming intercultural networks.
  2. Economic autonomy
    By allowing temporary employment, the visa makes it easier for young women to cover their accommodation, transportation and food costs, reducing the financial burden of such a long trip.
  3. Personal and professional development
    Working in a European country, even for a while, allows you to accumulate international work experience, improve soft skills such as adaptability, intercultural communication and responsibility.
  4. Strengthening bilateral ties
    This program is not only beneficial for the people, but also for the country: it promotes a deeper cultural exchange between Peru and the Czech Republic, generating a closer relationship between both societies.

An exchange for both sides

The program will work in both directions: Czech young people will also be able to carry out a similar experience in Peru under equivalent requirements. Each government may temporarily suspend the application of the agreement in cases of health or security emergencies or due to regulatory changes.

The new program becomes an open door for more young Peruvians to access an accessible international experience, combining work, study and tourism in one of the most attractive cultural destinations in Central Europe.
