Holcim Mexico announced the integration of Grupo Comosa, concrete company with more than 56 years of experience in the countryas part of the strategy to strengthen its production network and expand its presence in the national market.
With this operation, the firm increases its installed capacity with approximately 300,000 cubic meters (m3) of concrete annual. This with the addition of seven new plants located in Polotitlán, Atlacomulco, Cuautla, Cuernavaca, Xochitepec, Toluca and El Marqués (Querétaro).
According to the company, The expansion responds to the growing demand derived from urbanization and industrial development processes.in addition to reinforcing its commitment to the decarbonization of the industry.
“Mexico is a key market within our NextGen Growth 2030 strategy. These investments reflect our vision of building progress for people and the planet, boosting the country’s competitiveness with sustainable solutions and continuous innovation,” commented Christian Dedeu, general director of Holcim Mexico.
Holcim He specified that this integration is part of its global NextGen Growth 2030 strategy, focused on investments that allocate 50% to operational growth and 50% to sustainable development.
The company highlighted that its portfolio includes high-value products such as ECOPact, a concrete with 30% less carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, in addition to other technological solutions such as permeable concreteself-compacting, architectural and high resistance, designed to optimize structural efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint of buildings.
These actions are part of the global goal of Holcim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, with the promotion of innovation and efficiency in the construction sector.
Operations Network
With the incorporation of Grupo Comosa, Holcim Mexico expands its national network. Currently, the company has 70 plants ready mixed concretealong with seven cement plants, one grinding plant, 39 distribution centers, seven Geocycle platforms, four aggregates plants and two waterproofing plants.
The company stressed that this expansion reinforces its presence in strategic regions and its ability to serve urban, industrial and residential infrastructure projects throughout the country.
Through its network of Disensa franchises, Holcim It also maintains a share in the retail construction materials market. The brand’s goal is to exceed 2,500 stores in the next five years.
