Historical Pact defines its list for the Senate: Corcho leads and Wally surprises

The movement reveals the names that will mark its new legislative commitment

The internal consultation of the Historical Pact, carried out on October 26, 2025, not only defined the name of the coalition’s presidential candidate, but also the order of its lists for Congress.

With the victory of Iván Cepeda as a candidate for the Presidency, attention turned to the formation of the list closed to the Senate, which marks the new balance of forces within the most important political bloc of the current Government.

One of the big news was the announcement by the former Minister of Health Carolina Corchowho confirmed that he will head the list for the Senate, after coming in second place in the general vote of the consultation.

His presence in first place confirms the prominence that the most progressive wing of the movement will have in the next electoral contest in 2026.

A change in the basis of the Pact: new figures and electoral surprises

The results of the consultation revealed a change in trend within the Historical Pact. Figures with extensive political experience gave space to new emerging voices that gained ground among voters, especially on social networks.

The influencer Walter Rodriguezbetter known as Wallywas the big surprise of the day. His candidacy achieved more than one hundred thousand votes and positioned him among the first places on the list for the Senate, surpassing several current congressmen.

Next to it appear names like Wilson Ariaswho maintains an important electoral base; Pedro Florez, Ferney Silva, Carmen Caicedo, Carlos Benavides and Aida Avellawho complete the group of the main candidates to obtain a seat.

In total, the coalition presented a closed and zip list—that is, alternating between men and women—that combines legislative experience, social leadership and new figures of digital activism.

Among those who did not manage to position themselves in the first places are the former Minister of Mines Omar Camachothe former superintendent Dagoberto Quiroga and the former mayor of Cartagena William Dauwho did not reach the votes necessary to enter the main group.

Cepeda, the presidential candidate of the ruling bloc

The day also defined the presidential direction of the Historical Pact. With more than one million one hundred thousand votesthe senator Ivan Cepeda He was chosen as the coalition’s standard bearer for the 2026 elections, beating Carolina Corcho.

After knowing the results, Cepeda affirmed that “the internal democracy of the movement has prevailed,” while President Gustavo Petro celebrated the process by pointing out that “the progressive people spoke at the polls.”

The vote, which was exclusive to the Historical Pact, also included the definition of the closed lists for the House of Representatives in different departments.

In Bogotá, María Fernanda Carrascal won first place, followed by the influencer Laura Beltrán (‘Lalis’) and Maria del Mar Pizarro.

In Antioquia, the content creator Hernan Muriel prevailed over the current representative Alejandro Torowhile in Valle del Cauca he led Alfredo Mondragonaccompanied by Jorge Palacio and Ana Erazo.
