The National Registry of Civil Status carried out on March 29 the draw to define the position of the presidential candidates on the card that will be delivered on the next election day, which will take place on May 29.
Regarding how the positions, the names of the candidates and the presidential formulas turned out, there was a controversy because instead of Federico Gutiérrez appearing, on the card you can see that it says ‘Fico’ Gutiérrez.

For this reason, the Historical Pact asks to modify the ballot for the first round of the presidential elections. “The presidential card must be modified. It cannot happen again that “a design error” favors results of government candidacies”, Roy Barreras wrote on his Twitter account.
In a video, Barreras explained the reasons why they are asking for the changes to the electoral card.
“In the last election, a supposed design error hid, more than 500,000 votes of the Historical Pact disappeared; we will never know how many more than thousands of votes we failed to detect. Now, once again, design errors in the ballot favor government candidates. The first, the use of a nickname, a nickname; the second, the use of the national colors in the logo of that party; and the third, the registration of a candidate, who is not a candidate, Dr. John Milton Rodríguez, because the Electoral Council itself has already annulled the assembly that had so determined, ”he pointed out.

Finally, he expressed that he is asking for these changes in the card by mandate of the Constitution. “That ballot must be modified, and I am demanding it today from the Electoral Council by mandate of the Constitution and the law,” said Roy Barreras.
