After applying a strategy to guarantee access to housing and alleviate the financial burden of Mexican families, the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) achieved the conversion of almost 4.9 million credits considered unpayable. In this way, 238 thousand were completely liquidated, one million 258 thousand were restructured with a reduction in their balance and 3 million 360 thousand received other benefits, such as fixed monthly payments, the agency reported.
As part of the Infonavit Integral Solution program, the reconversion of these credits concluded on December 22. Beneficiaries can directly consult the benefits applied to their mortgage loan on the portal infonavit.org.mx/solucionintegral, available since last Wednesday.
The benefits granted vary according to the conditions and characteristics of each financing. Among them are the reduction of the total balance – which in some cases implies the liquidation of the credit –, the reduction of the interest rate and the establishment of a fixed monthly payment. Furthermore, when the borrower maintains a current employment relationship, the employer contribution is paid directly to the capital, with the aim of accelerating the payment of the debt.
To consult the benefits, beneficiaries must enter the borrower’s full name, social security number or credit number.
The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers recalled that all procedures are free and personal, so it is not necessary to resort to intermediaries or the so-called “coyotes.” If you require advice, interested parties can go to the Infonavit Service Center closest to their home or contact Infonatel at 800 008 3900.
