Fernando Enrique Acosta Criptón, 30, lent his friend Cristhian Morínigo Lafuente, 37, the sum of G. 70 million during the pandemic, but far from returning the money, he applies the ‘ñembotavy’ law.
Consequently, Acosta initiated several procedures through the notary’s office to be able to collect the amount, but without results. In this sense, he decided to chain himself in front of Morínigo’s house and will only leave once he returns the sum of the borrowed money.
As detailed by the victim, on April 30, 2021, the promissory notes in the name of Cristhian expired, however, they did not even make a minimum delivery to cancel the debt.
“I asked for at least something to be delivered to me and reach an agreement, since at no time did I ask for the total amount, I only wanted to be paid according to their possibilities, but since there were no results, I had to take this protest measure”, he expressed in dialogue with a local media.
The young man said that he was so desperate, because he has a family to support, that he made the decision to chain himself. “A lawyer came on behalf of this man (his friend of his), we reached an agreement, but he lied to me again,” he said.
Acosta said that police officers approached him, since he allegedly has a restraining order for violence against women, and asked those who filed the complaint to show evidence of such accusation.
“The neighbors are witnesses that I did not disrespect anyone, what’s more, Mr. Cristhian Lafuente was the one who threatened to put lead in me, among other things,” he specified.
The incident takes place in a house located in the Remansito neighborhood, sector 7 of Ciudad del Este, in the department of Alto Paraná.
