The Interbalnearia route to the east of the country is “extremely congested” with a passage of 3,200 vehicles per hour, as reported by the Highway Police.
When passing the Pando toll, traffic advances at a pedestrian pace. This situation occurs until passing the traffic light located at kilometer 40 of the route, in the Marindia area.
Given the congestion in the Interbalnearia, the Highway Police recommends:
- If possible, choose route 8 and route 9
- Avoid peak hours between 11am and 2pm.
- Reduce speed
- Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front
- Don’t get distracted while driving
