National Gastronomy is one of the novelties for 2025
With a high level of graduates as of last December and some who will achieve it after the February exam period, the Higher Technical School closed a highly positive year.
Although there are some difficulties regarding teachers, difficulties that are planned to be overcome before March, the institution’s big bet for 2025 on a National Gastronomy course.
As we reported in EL PROFESIONAL Diario, on December 26 the degrees were awarded to the graduates of the Tertiary Administration and Nautical Sports courses of the Institute of High Specialization, an educational offer that was launched under the management of the also Director of the Higher Technical School.
“The Technician in Nautical Sports was a great challenge for the entire educational community of the Higher School that at that time was launched with this proposal that we later continued at the IAE, which was the place where it was actually going to be carried out” recalled Professor David Amaral.
“With the contribution of all the personalities of the environment, we fought so that it could become a reality. At the time of graduation of those who began this process, we felt enormous pride and satisfaction because this group of students managed to achieve their life project. From now on they must apply everything they learned, that knowledge that each one acquired or that each one shared with their classmates to put it into practice” added the Director of the Melo Higher Technical School.
He recalled that at the time it was a totally innovative educational proposal for the environment. “We had to decentralize and bring it so that it was in the territory, avoiding the uprooting of our students who often go to the capital or other departments to study. Having the proposal in the territory seems to me to be very valuable. We have to continue supporting all these types of proposals in the future,” he said.
Many times the passage of time, of years, leads us to lose certain references. In the first steps of the High Specialization Institute, the Director was Professor David Amaral. “All this tertiary education offer began with me, so it is a great pride today to see that the students have completed their educational career, they have been able to complete it by obtaining their diploma, their title that is very valuable for them as people and as future professionals” he pointed out.
EVALUATION OF THE YEAR AND PROSPECTS FOR 2025
Regarding the 2024 balance, at the Higher Technical School there is satisfaction with what has been done. “He has finished his courses normally as always. Registrations were received in December. There are already a large number of groups already complete. A second stage of registration is coming in February,” he recalled.
The educational institution hopes to be able to fulfill the expectations it has regarding its educational offer, one of them innovative as in National Gastronomy. “We are having some difficulties regarding teachers. Let’s hope that in the month of February we can achieve that, start the course giving the students the security so that they can start classes in March as they should,” David Amaral told EL PROFESIONAL Diario.
“The objective is for them to start and have great continuity, which is the great challenge, it is what one aspires to. Sometimes we have many barriers along the way, but we will try to overcome them because for us the barriers are learning and are opportunities to continue building,” he noted.
Regarding graduation, he confirmed that the majority of students who were able to do so achieved it last December. “Some have some Curricular Units pending for February, but we believe they will achieve it,” said the Director of the Higher Technical School.
