“I was discharged from ISA. I struck out some subjects, they couldn’t give me the repetition. I don’t lose much more than a hostel. I continue my preparation as a composer with my beloved teacher Juan Piñera”, wrote Lescay.

“Now it’s my turn to play. I’m going to throw a discazo ”, she added later.

He also asked for financial help to complete his first album through a fundraiser. In the same publication, he defined his potential debut feature as “music for all the voices that weave the present” and “a new free music album in Cuba.”

The young musician was convicted of the alleged crimes of public disorder and aggravated contempt. However, in an interview given to CubaNet He assured that his life had not changed much since he heard the sentence last April.

“My parents have understood the situation and they support me a lot, my family has very good energy. I don’t believe the six-year sentence, and what he gave me was laughter when I read it. That is a lack of respect and a very bad job, I do not know how they are going to have the conscience to put me in prison for those years for offending a police officer, that what would take the most is a fine, ”she said.

“The same, if they want to put me in jail, let them do it, I will be fine wherever I am,” he said on that occasion.

In mid-April, the #FreeAbelLescay movementcreated as a result of the conviction of the young musician, denounced that its members were being harassed by State Security after presenting a letter addressed to the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel in which they condemned the six years of imprisonment imposed on Lescay.

The group, created by students, graduates and professors from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), explained that “as a result of the letter published on the Facebook and WhatsApp platforms, they were under pressure for the use of prophylactic methods (such as citations, warning calls and insinuation of consequences of not abandoning).
