Los Alcarrizos.– A 23-year-old young man died from electrocution after an electrical transformer exploded and a high-tension cable fell on him, in an event that occurred on Tucán Street in the Juanita sector, known as “Americanos,” just behind the police station of the same name.
Members of the Preventive Police and units of the National Emergency Care and Security System 9-1-1 immediately went to the scene, who transferred the victim to the emergency room of the Dr. Vinicio Calventi Hospital, where his death was confirmed due to an electric shock.
According to versions offered by residents of the sector to the authorities, the young man was traveling along the aforementioned road when, suddenly, the transformer exploded, causing the energized cable to fall and impact him.

The event has generated consternation among community members, who expressed their concern about the conditions of the power lines in the area and requested the competent authorities, especially the electricity distribution company, to carry out an inspection and preventive maintenance to avoid similar events.
The authorities reported that an investigation was opened to determine the causes of the transformer explosion and establish possible responsibilities.
