Authorities of the National Government reported that this Thursday, during the work stoppage of the Meritorious Fire Department of the Republic of Panama, they reviewed the situation of the personnel and were looking for ways to address the complaints presented.
They stated that they established “the real level of the internal administrative problem in the institution, the way in which the promotions were given, the effective availability of economic resources to deal with these rank promotions and likewise, it has been possible to confirm that the position structure in the entity, has not been altered.
They reported that a high-level commission has been convened for a working meeting at 9:30 am on Friday the 31st, at the offices of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. There the issue of budgetary resources will be addressed to meet the majority of requests.
Parallel; work is done on internal audits, the files of the promoted units are considered in order to avoid injustices, and specific recommendations are prepared for an administrative modernization of the entire Institution.
At the highest level of the National Government, absolute confidence prevails in the responsible and professional conduct of the trained Panamanian firefighters, who have always safeguarded the lives and property of Panamanians, even risking the most valuable thing they have: their own lives.
