Andrés Hurtado faces 18 months of preventive detention in the Lurigancho prison, due to the investigations against him for the alleged crimes of passive bribery, corruption and influence peddling to the detriment of the State. The request made by the Prosecutor’s Office, and ratified by the Judiciary, was based—within the different indications of the investigation—on the statements of the Siucho Neira brotherswho accepted the sincere confession and accused the former television host of boasting about the power of influence he would have had within public entities.
One of them, the close friendship with Roxana del Águilaformer head of the National Immigration Superintendence and who allegedly helped, at the request ofAndres Hurtado, to Roberto Siucho Neira in his process to renounce Peruvian nationality in 2019. This was stated by the footballer in his statements to the Prosecutor’s Office, where he narrates how he met Del Águila.
“A friend told him that he knew the person who could help him and introduced him to him, this person being Andrés Hurtado. At that moment Hurtado, upon learning of the problem he had with immigration, called a person on his cell phone (whose identity he did not know). )”, are the first statements by Roberto Siucho about how he met ‘Chibolín’. “However, Andrés Hurtado told his interlocutor ‘Hey damn, my nephew wants to renounce his nationality and they won’t let him’, then he asked for his ID and later indicated that the person he contacted was the Superintendent of Immigration and that he had put her in that position“, reads the judicial resolution to which La República had access.
