In dialogue with the PIT-CNT Portal, the director representing the workers in the BPS board of directors, Ramón Ruiz, maintained that the handling of the reform “is not serious” since “not even the deputies who Those who have the responsibility of voting for this reform know exactly what the impact will be” of the changes introduced and “to what extent” they will affect the population.

In a blunt manner, the director representing the workers affirmed that “according to the changes that have occurred, this reform will end up being a reform with a single article, that is, the only article that remains without any changes and is that workers and workers are going to retire later, they are going to contribute more and they are going to work more years and of course, they are going to earn less. It is the only article that until now has not been changed”. Ruiz ironized that this reform “could have only one article, because it was the only one that was not changed, and the only one that the workers are clear about is going to harm them, because we are going to work for five more years – in the best of cases – and we are going to receive five less years of retirement. That alone is already a detriment, but also, on a monthly basis, the majority of the workers are going to receive less, ”he lashed out.
“We do not understand the rush there is to achieve the parliamentary majority that they are trying to build – which is a tight majority – which is not what is needed to reform the system. To reform social security, great social and political consensus is needed and this is not like that, on the contrary, there is an enormous distance between a tight majority that is going to approve this reform -if the leaders of the coalition – with the social and political consensus that really needs a reform that will affect the future of the people who work”, he declared.
