The midfielder Hector ‘HH’ Herrera has returned to Mexico eleven years after his departure to Europe as a stellar reinforcement for Toluca, which is preparing to face the tournament Closing starting January 10.
The third most winning team in Mexicowith 10 league titles, six less than Americaleader of the record, welcomed the 34-year-old player this Thursday.
Herrera He signed in 2013 for the Port Portuguese, club of which he was captain and with which he won a league title and two editions of the Super Cup.
In 2019 he signed for Atlético de Madridwith which he conquered LaLiga for the 2020-2021 season.
In 2022 he signed for Houston Dynamo American, with whom he won the cup in 2023, but was expelled last November after spitting at a referee in a match in the first round of the playoffs of the MLS.
‘HH’ participated with the Mexican team in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022and was part of the squad that won the gold medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Toluca will debut in the Clausura tournament under the command of Argentine coach Antonio Mohamed.
