The Mariners announced yesterday that Venezuelan Félix Hernández will be immortalized in the Seattle team’s Hall of Fame.
The ceremony will be held at T-Mobile Park before the Mariners’ game against the Orioles on August 12. It will be part of a celebration of Hernandez’s career that weekend. “With every game he wore a Mariners uniform, Félix wowed fans, from his first start in 2005 to his last pitch in 2019,” team owner John Stanton said.
“He also left his mark on Mariners history with our only perfect game on August 15, 2012 — a day our fans will never forget.”
Hernández, nicknamed “King Felix,” will become the 11th inductee into the Mariners Hall of Fame, joining Alvin Davis, Dave Niehaus, Jay Buhner, Edgar Martínez, Randy Johnson, Dan Wilson, Ken Griffey Jr., Lou Piniella, Jamie Moyer, and Ichiro Suzuki.
