Hernán Bermúdez, former official in Tabasco and criminal leader of "The barredora"

Hernán Bermúdez Requena, former Secretary of Public Security of Tabasco and leader of the criminal organization known as La Barredora, was arrested in Paraguay, said Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

Through its social networks, the official indicated that the capture was achieved after a joint operation headed by the National Intelligence Center (CNI) and as part of the instruction of President Claudia Sheinbaum of “zero tolerance to corruption.”

Who is Hernán Bermúdez Requena?

Former Secretary of Citizen Security and Protection (SSPC) in Tabasco, who was a fugitive from justice after an arrest warrant was issued against him last February.

He was considered a leader of “La Barredora”, and tells arrest warrant for the crimes of criminal association, extortion and express kidnapping, in Tabasco. Similarly, it had a red notification issued by Interpol Mexico on July 17, 2025.
