The emotional story of Ceus is a clear example of the strong bond that dogs establish with their masters. The dog, whose owner had been missing for five days in Pailónnot only did he start barking desperately on the fourth day, but he went out looking for him.

Ceus and Alcides Paz, the young man who disappeared, were very close. They both went for a walk through the streets of the town. Alcides’ schoolmates and friends They knew how close they were. Ceus even accompanied him to soccer games, while his master played, he waited for him expectantly on the side of the field.

Alcides, who was due to graduate this year from high school, disappeared earlier this week (April 17). Since then his family began looking for him.

His parents and other relatives, as well as his friends, mobilized. after notifying the disappearance to the authorities, they undertook a search campaign throughout Pailón. They put announcements on the radio and with a megaphone they went out into the streets to ask for help. They also posted photos of the young man on public roads and on social media.

They were so focused on finding Alcides that it wasn’t until the fourth day that they noticed that Ceus, who had stayed at home, was barking desperately.

Alcibiades Paz, the young man’s father, says that on Friday, the fifth day of the disappearance, the search began again in the early hours of the day, but this time Ceus went out with them. Before leaving the house, the dog sniffed his master’s clothes.

When they arrived at the San Rosita neighborhood, Alcibiades he released the dog and decided to follow him. “He entered a narrow path where we had passed before with my friends. After a while I heard him bark three times and imagined that he had found something,” she says.

Alcibiades continues: “Ceus desperately went looking for me, I put the leash on him and he immediately pulled me hard to follow him. When we arrived at the place with my friends, we found my son. I didn’t imagine finding it that way.”

Even with his voice broken by the pain of the loss of his son, he recounts that when he left to meet his wife, he could not give her the terrible news at that moment, He only managed to say that Ceus found his son.

“Thanks to the dog we found my son. We will breed (reproduce) because he remains as a replacement for my offspring”concludes Alcibiades.
