In this way, the brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability is reaffirmed. This agreement is part of the brewing company’s global strategy, which seeks to reduce CO2 emissions by 30% by 2025 and 100% by 2040.

This alliance involves the delivery of a certificate that guarantees that the electricity used comes from renewable sources such as wind, solar and mini hydro. While there is still a way to go with respect to thermal energy, this initiative reflects the company’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and to preserve natural resources.

“We are convinced that sustainability is not an option, but a duty. With the signing of this contract we take a fundamental step towards our goal of being a more sustainable company, using renewable electricity that respects the environment and promotes a better future for generations,” said Alejandra Jiménez, director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at HEINEKEN Peru.

The company plans to publicize the progress and results of this initiative through its digital channels, in order to maintain transparency and continue actively contributing to the fight against climate change.
