After the caravan that toured part of the central area of the capital of Santa Cruz yesterday, the heavy transport of Santa Cruz analyzes new protest measures in demand of a national census in 2023.
“If the Government does not give in tomorrow or the day after, we will see other measures that will be defined in extended,” reported the executive secretary of the Santa Cruz Heavy Transport Federation, Juan Yujra.
The leader slipped that the sector will also wait for the decisions that the Inter-institutional Committee will take, regarding the direction that the citizen strike will take, which today enters its twenty-first day. “It’s unfortunate, but instead of giving us a solution, the government is confronting us,” he said.
“many needs”
Yesterday, Yujra was part of the caravan of high-tonnage trucks that began their journey on Santos Dumont Avenue and later concentrated on Cristo Redentor Avenue.
When the column of heavy vehicles started, in the fourth ring, it was applauded by the neighbors who gathered on the sidewalks.
In a peaceful way, the trucks circulated with Santa Cruz flags and with banners for a timely and transparent population and housing census. The neighbors entrenched in their blockade points allowed them to pass.
“They rob us in the middle of the highway, we do not have a good health system, there is a lack of items for education, there are many needs that we have as Bolivians and that is why we are now marching,” said Yujra.
The losses for the sector after 20 days of strike in Santa Cruz are considerable, recognized the leader, but those associated with the Federation are not going to give up their demand.
The government’s proposal to carry out the census in 2024 is unacceptable, he stressed. “What they are looking for is to tire us out, but they are not going to achieve it. We are not going to get tired, ”he assured.
