This Tuesday, the Forecast Center of the Institute of Meteorology (INSMET) of Cuba issued the Special Notice No. 1 due to heavy rains and electrical storms in the west of the Island.
“During the next few hours, a line of storms associated with the trough that is located over the southeast of the Gulf of Mexico, will continue to move eastward and will continue to move slowly in the vicinity of the western region of Cuba from this afternoon and hours of the night and early morning”, explained the Forecast Center.
“This system in combination with the strong heating of the day and high humidity content, will be generating strong instability with a deterioration of the meteorological conditions, increasing the areas of showers, rains and electrical storms over the west, with rains that can be strong and intense in some locations”, added the scientific institution.
