THE The city of São Paulo was hit by heavy rain this Saturday afternoon (27) after a very hot day.
The Emergency Management Center (CGE) placed the municipality on alert. Civil Defense sent a cell phone alert informing about rain in the central and northern regions. The west zone is also affected. There were winds, lightning and hail.
According to Civil Defense and the Fire Department, more than 30 calls were made for falling trees. The roofs of two houses — one in Brasilândia and the other in Jaraguá — collapsed, but there were no victims.
In Vila Anastácio, a tree fell on a car and a 40-year-old man was trapped in the wreckage. He was removed and taken to Hospital das Clínicas.
More than 150,000 Enel customers were left without power this afternoon due to rain and falling trees.
