Heavy commercial vehicle market grew more than 30% in 2025

The Peruvian automotive industry goes through a stage of sustained expansion during 2025, driven by the reactivation of strategic sectors such as mining, construction, agribusiness and logistics.

In the last ten monthsthe market heavy commercial vehicles registered a growth of 33.7%with the marketing of 13,399 trucks and tractors at the national level, consolidating a clear trend of recovery and growth of the sector.

New profile of the corporate buyer

The dynamism of the market not only responds to the greatest economic movement, but also to a change in the priorities of purchasing companies.

Currently, the corporate buyer prioritizes:

  • Technical and after-sales support to ensure business continuity

In this context, concessionaires with national coverage and solid after-sales infrastructure They have become key players in the market.

Leadership in the truck segment

One of the groups that reflects this evolution is the Santa Clara Groupwhich consolidated its position in the market during the last year.

In the segment of trucksthe company remains the number one Isuzu dealer for the ninth consecutive year. At the moment, six out of ten Isuzu trucks sold in the country are marketed by this network, reaching a market share of 54% within the brand’s dealer network.

Heavy machinery and light vehicles also grow

The growth of the automotive market is not limited to heavy transportation. The machinery demand for infrastructure, mining and agribusiness also showed a positive evolution.

In this area:

In parallel, the segment of light vehicles accompanied this trend. Sales of brands such as Kia and Peugeot increased 52% compared to the previous year, driven by the renewal of business fleets and final consumption.

Positive projections and focus on after-sales

According to figures from the Santa Clara Group, the consolidated billing will grow 16% at the end of 2025 compared to 2024, while projections point to an average growth of 10% by 2026.

This performance occurs in an environment where the after-sales It has become a decisive factor. The availability of spare parts, workshop capacity and geographical proximity are today key variables for customers.

As part of this strategy, the sector has been strengthening its infrastructure, with examples such as the opening of a new comprehensive headquarters in Huánucowhich improves coverage and service times in the central area of ​​the country.

“The growth of the automotive market goes hand in hand with investment and that is redefining customer priorities. Today fleets are looking for solutions that allow them to operate better, reduce costs and minimize downtime,” he noted.
