These are summer days in which the consumption of Uruguayan households also increases, mainly due to the turning on of the air conditioning equipment.
What happened in the last three days?
On Thursday the demand for electrical energy reached 38,456 MWh. That day the average temperature was 24.1° and the maximum was 29.9°, according to UTE data.
On Friday the demand rose to 39,582 MWh, with an average temperature of 26.2° and a maximum of 34.9°.
And on Saturday the demand grew slightly again, reaching 39,862 MWh. On that day the temperature exceeded 37° and the average was 29.4°.
Although registrations grew, remained below the peak of demand which was reached on February 13, with a historical record of 42,827 MWh.

Regarding the power demanded, the peak of the last 3 days occurred on Saturday at 2:50 p.m., with 2,041 MW and a temperature of 36.6°.
In any case, it is not enough to exceed the historical peak of consumption in summer that was registered on December 9, 2022 at 3:25 p.m., with 2,242 MW.
Import and export
In the last three days, 30% of the electricity consumed by Uruguay was imported from Brazil. This week it is planned to continue with the import through the Conversora de Melo.
In the last few hours and at times simultaneously with the import, Uruguay also sold electricity to Argentina. The placements were resumed on Thursday and in four days 5.9 GWh were sold.
