Heat will prevail in the weather conditions today with temperatures between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius in much of the country, although showers will occur in the morning hours.
Showers will be recorded in Samaná, Hato Mayor, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez and Monte Plata due to the incidence of the east/northeast wind and a weak trough in the lower levels of the troposphere reported the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet).
Santo Domingo and the National District will be clear in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon with local showers.
Also in the afternoon there will be showers with possible thunderstorms in San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, Barahona, Azua and San Cristóbal, according to the same Indomet forecast.

The hottest temperatures above 35 degrees in the last 24 hours were recorded in Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Jimaní with 37 degrees Celsius; Valverde 36 and Barahona with 35 according to the report of the Hydrometeorology division.
At sea, good conditions with waves of 3 to 4 feet high are favorable for all vessels to navigate on the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, according to the Indomet marine forecast. Tomorrow, Sunday, the effects of the wind and a trough at various levels of the troposphere will be favoring cloud increases with showers from the morning hours towards La Altagracia, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná and Hato Mayor, in the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms will occur occasionally over the northeast, southeast, northwest regions and the Central Mountain Range, such as: El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Greater Santo Domingo (especially the northern portion), Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, Santiago, La Vega, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez, Monte Cristi, Puerto Plata, Elías Piña, San Juan and Dajabón.
